The following are the guidelines for 100+ Women Who Care - DeKalb/Sycamore Area:
  • Each member must commit to donate $100 per meeting ($400/year).
  • An Active Member is a member in good standing who has fulfilled all prior funding commitments.
  • If a member is unable to attend, she can send her check to the meeting with another member.  Otherwise, she will be notified by e-mail immediately following the meeting with instructions as to whom to make out the check and where to send it.  In order to be able to collectively present all checks to the recipient organization, we ask that all checks be submitted within two weeks of the meeting.
  • The chosen organizations will be 501(c)(3) charities who serve the Greater DeKalb/Sycamore Area.
  • At each meeting, all members who are present and current on their contributions can complete and place one presentation slip into the basket for the chance to be selected to present a charity at the following meeting. If two or three of the selected members are presenting the same charity, other names will be drawn until three different charities can be presented.
  • It is each member's responsibility to insure that any charity they submit into the basket for the drawing qualifies under our guidelines and has been granted 501(c)(3) statues by the IRS. In addition, any charity that is chosen to present must be registered and in compliance with the Illinois Attorney General’s office.  Under Illinois law, fundraisers and charitable organizations are required to register each year with the Attorney General's office. Any charity which is in the process of registering or is not registered will not be able to present at our quarterly meetings. Please access the following website http://www.ag.state.il.us/charities/index.html for an online database of registered charities for DeKalb County.
  • The overall goal and purpose of our Greatest Impact award is to have an immediate impact on 501 (c)(3) charitable projects that serve people in DeKalb County.  The winning charity shall not invest the money with a long-term investment agency or bank.
  • Each active member who is chosen to present a charity for consideration will be given no more than five minutes to make a presentation.  There will be a five minute questions/answer period after the three presentations have been completed.
  • National charities will be considered only if charities can guarantee that all donations will remain in DeKalb County.  The purpose of the group is for contributions to have an impact in the Greater DeKalb/Sycamore Area.
  • The 501(c)(3) charity that is selected must agree NOT to use the names of individual contributors for future solicitations or give the information out to the public.  If a charity does not adhere to this condition, it will be removed from any future consideration by the group.
  • A representative from the selected charity will be invited to the next meeting to give an update on the use of the funds.
  • A charity that is chosen by the group to receive funds will not be eligible to be considered again in the same calendar year.
